Masseter Botox

For jaw tension, clenching and a softer lower-face contour.

Masseter Botox relaxes the large chewing muscles at the angle of the jaw. At our Taksim clinic it is used for two reasons: to help reduce jaw tension and clenching, and to soften a wide or square-looking lower face.

What is Masseter Botox?

The masseter is the strong muscle you can feel at the side of your jaw when you bite down. When it is overactive — often through clenching or grinding during sleep or stress — it can feel tense and, over time, look more prominent. Small, precisely placed injections are designed to relax the muscle so it works less hard. Whether the treatment is right for you is assessed individually in a personal consultation.

“Relaxing an overworked muscle — for comfort and contour.”
Functional

Jaw tension & clenching

  • Jaw tension
  • Clenching
  • Teeth grinding (bruxism)

Relaxing an overactive masseter may help reduce clenching and the tension that comes with it. It does not replace dental care such as a night guard.

Aesthetic

Lower-face contour

  • Lower-face contouring
  • Softer jaw appearance
  • Facial balance

As a prominent masseter gradually relaxes, the lower face can look slimmer and softer, for a more balanced facial outline.

Step by step

Your treatment journey

01

Consultation & Assessment

We talk about your symptoms or aesthetic goals, review your health questionnaire and assess the masseter while you clench.

02

Muscle Mapping

Injection points are marked on both sides according to the size and strength of your muscles.

03

Treatment

A few quick injections with a very fine needle into each masseter.

04

Aftercare & Review

You receive aftercare instructions, and we review how the muscle has responded.

Common questions

Is Masseter Botox the same as regular Botox?

It uses the same type of product, but it is placed in the jaw muscles rather than in facial lines, and the dose and technique are planned specifically for the masseter.
